Summary
Kay, the quiet deputy captain of the guard in a remote, impoverished village, leads a peaceful and uneventful life – until the arrival of the Grand Duke Zigril shatters his world. Zigril is in pursuit of the legendary Alosha, a rare and mysterious bloom rumored to grant pregnancy to anyone who consumes it, regardless of age or gender. Drawn to Kay in a fleeting moment of desire, the Duke expects their encounter to be no more than a brief indulgence. But as Zigril finds himself unable to shake thoughts of Kay, their connection deepens in unexpected ways.
